Beautiful red clay next to the Hudson River. RCTA operated by the Riverside Tennis Association. Located between the Henry Hudson Parkway and the Hudson River, accessible via Riverside Park. The nearest cross street is 96th St. Current NYC Parks Dept. Court Pass permits are required to play. There are fountains outside the courts — during hours of play, water is provided by the RCTA. Two portable restrooms are nearby, a short walk up the hill by the steps to the parking lot. Free parking lot accessible via the Henry Hudson Parkway. Set of twelve brand new hard courts for the Lower East Side opened 2025 in the East River Park. Courts operate on a first-come, first-serve basis — when players are waiting, speak with those already in line to determine your place. During peak times, players line up by plugging their rackets into the fence near the court entrance. Simply add your racket to the end of the line and wait your turn. Court time is limited to 1 hour for singles and 2 hours for doubles (4 players on court). Please be respectful, communicate openly, and keep track of your time — especially when others are waiting to play. Access via Pier 42, the Delancey St pedestrian bridge (over the FDR) just south of the Williamsburg Bridge, or the Corlears Hook Bridge. There is a working water fountain just south of the courts near the mini soccer field.

Current NYC Parks Dept. Court Pass permits are required to play. Sign-up sheets come out at 6:30am and are hosted at the reception nearby the balcony. Both players must be signed up no later than 15 minutes before the hour. For doubles play, all four players must be signed up no more than 15 minutes before the first hour to confirm two hours of play. Late players will lose their court. No more than three balls permitted on the court. No more than four people permitted on the court. Must have a minimum of two players to play on the courts at any time — no practicing serves alone. Please wait for the hourly bell before entering your court. There are water fountains and restroom facilities nearby the courts. Free to play courts with lights for night play located on the Hudson River nearby Tribeca and Greenwich Village. Resurfaced hard courts completed the second week of May 2023. There are water fountains located outside the SW corner (next to the footpath) of the singles court. Water fountains do not operate in winter. Bathrooms are located inside Pier 40 a short walk North along the Hudson walkway from the courts. Call for court updates when closures occur due to weather (such as snow). Open all year, 6:00am - 12:00am midnight.

Features dome-covered hard courts set atop a two-story parking garage in Midtown, with the entrance on 43rd Street between 9th and 10th Avenue in Hell's Kitchen. While court rates are among the highest in New York City, they reflect the quality of the facility and the reliability of court availability. A membership is required to reserve courts more than 24 hours in advance. Non-members are welcome to book courts as well, but reservations must be made within 24 hours of play. Average non-member hourly rate $250/hr. Amenities include courtside water, on-site stringing services, and a pro shop available at check-in. Open all year, 6:00am - 12:00am midnight (Sunday from 7am).

The Philip & Cheryl Milstein Family Tennis Center hosts the home courts for the men's and women's Columbia varsity teams with six cushioned hard indoor courts and six outdoor courts on the roof overlooking the Hudson and Harlem Rivers. The Tennis Center is located in a beautifully landscaped area of the Baker Athletics Complex (218th Street, west of Broadway). Easily accessible by subway from the 215th Street station of the number one train — it is a 5-to-10-minute walk from the subway station to the center. Open all year, 7:00am - 11:30pm. Pay to Play.

Four Free to Play courts on the Lower East Side (opened Oct 2022). Located at Pier 42 on the East River between the Williamsburg and Manhattan Bridges. Brand new restroom facilities and park entrance opened July 2024 including functional water station. When players are waiting to play it is a first-come first-served line-up system — add your racket to the end of the line and wait. Play is limited to 1 hr only unless 4 players are on the court (doubles), in which case up to 2 hrs is allowed. Be nice, communicate clearly and be mindful of your time if players are waiting. Difficult to access via public transport (long walk from nearest bus or train). Easily accessible via bicycle. Beautiful views of the East River and Brooklyn. Open all year, 7:00am - 6:00pm/8:00pm (later seasonally).
